Retrospective post created 10/16/05.
The summer was ending and the children were 7 when we decided that they were ready for their first 4000 footer. We choose, of course, one of the easiest - Mt. Tecumseh. Close to our home and we got to go down the ski slope too. Going down the ski slopes, with the expansive views all the way, feels like a scene from the Sound of Music. Kate and Jordan were tired at the end but they did great!
Distance: 5.3 miles.; Climb 2200ft; Elevation 4003 ft.
